Don\u2019t take action, without approval from the appropriate authority <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">( ENVIRONMENT AGENCY).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are powers available from the Environment Agency \u00a0which can be applied to the fishery, which provides a degree of protection by providing\u00a0 additional colour to the water. There are, however.\u00a0 different views as to its effectiveness. Some angling bodies use ropes \u00a0to deter cormorant visits but this can cause problems for swans visiting the fishery. They too are protected birds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAMMALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mink and \u00a0otters can be a problem to the fishery. You will inevitably need advice from the Angling Trust, Environment Agency or the Institute of Fishery Management as to how the problem can be approached. Otters are a protected species.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANGLING TRUST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Angling Trust has two full time Fishery Management Advisors, whose role is to advise on predation issues &#8211; mainly avian predation<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PREDATION Predation is part of fishery life.
